HiLyte Fluor 488 has excitation and emission spectrum peak wavelengths of approximately 497 nm/525 nm, giving it a green color. The spectrum of HiLyte Fluor488 is similar to fluorescein (FITC), resulting in an optimal match to filters designed for fluorescein. Protein conjugates prepared with HiLyte Fluor 488 dyes are far more superior compared to conjugates of FITC. Its protein conjugates are very stable and suitable for immunofluorescent staining, in situ hybridization, flow cytometry and other biological applications. The kit has all essential components for performing the conjugation reaction and for purifying the HiLyte Fluor 488-protein conjugate.
