Function of myristoyl pentapeptide-11 in skin

2018-08-18

Introduction

Myristoyl pentapeptide-11 is classified to cosmetic peptide and single peptide, a common saturated fatty acid, which is the reaction product between myristic acid and pentapeptide-11, containing glutamine, glycine, lysine and methionine residues. It is a highly bioavailable lipo oligopeptides with anti-aging function, which accelerates the repair of damaged skin, helps to rebuild the skin's protective barrier, resists aging and reduces the appearance of fine lines. So the myristoyl pentapeptide-11 is expected to be added into the cosmetic products as a raw material to make it work.

Action and function of anti-aging

As we all know, the perfect conditions of skin is so important that can make us feel good, confidence and comfortable. Anti-aging is the primary driver for the cosmetic industry and, now more than ever, adults in all age categories are seeking solutions to address the visible signs of aging. Recently, In order to improve skin conditions, such as wrinkles, lines, elasticity, etc., various proteins and peptides have been developed. One of the peptides is myristoyl pentapeptide-11, possessed above function, which stimulates the production and synthesis of matrix proteins, including collagen Ⅰ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ and Ⅶ (a proteins can make the skin plum and elastic), in addition, it regulates cell proliferation, matrix remodeling, tissue repair, and stimulates cell replication to helps skin regain elasticity, make skin more compact, repair and fill fine lines.

Application

Owing to the special properties of myristoyl pentapeptide-11, it not only can applied in the skin care product to improve the problems of wrinkles and lines as a cosmetic material to perform its function and improve the conditions of the skin. Therefore it may attract much attention of most researchers.
