Functions | Alpha-A-short conotoxins act on postsynaptic membranes, they selectively bind to the fetal (alpha1 beta1 gamma delta subunits) mammalian muscle nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) and thus inhibit them. It blocks the elicited currents completely, and dissociates very slowly from the fetal muscle receptor. |
