Functions | Alpha-conotoxins act on postsynaptic membranes, they bind to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) and thus inhibit them. Blocks mammalian nAChRs composed of alpha-3/beta-2 subunits with high potency, and alpha-7 with very low potency. This peptide differ in function from most alpha-conotoxins by blocking the neuronal nAChR, rather than the skeletal muscle subtype. |
