The peptide pool is a cluster of immunostimulatory antigens indicated for T-cell stimulation in HIV, HCV, influenza and other infectious diseases. It consists of a select number of peptides representing the key immunodominant epitopes from a specific protein or pathogen, providing a comprehensive picture of the T cell response. Peptide selection is based on well-established and published epitopes with a wide range of HLA restrictions covering the most relevant HLA types in the population. Production of peptide pools is available with customized sequencing and mixing solutions to meet specific requirements. After mixing, the labeled peptides have unique distinguishable properties and can be used to verify that the desired peptides have been added to the corresponding peptide pool system.
Unlike peptide pools of protein spanning overlapping peptide libraries, the peptide pools allow for a much greater control and purity of its constituent peptide components and avoid overloading cell cultures with large numbers of irrelevant non-responding peptides that can contribute excessive contaminants from peptide synthesis processes. Peptide pools of overlapping peptides are a reliable tool for in vitro stimulation of antigen-specific T cells in functional T cell assays such as ELISPOT, cytokine response, effector function or proliferation. Peptide pools provide a wide range of different tumor-associated antigens, viral and bacterial antigens for therapeutic development, immune monitoring, etc. The peptide pool uses well characterized epitopes to provide a representative picture of the T cell response against a protein or disease. Smaller numbers of peptides in each pool are designed to elicit a targeted response based on immunodominant epitopes. Peptide pool is an efficient and cost-effective method for classifying T-cell responses.
Peptide pool can be used in areas such as antigen-specific stimulation of T cells, immune monitoring during disease or treatment, assessment of vaccine efficacy, in vitro T-cell expansion, epitope identification for T cell, cellular immune response analysis, evaluation of new epitopes.
